Donna A. Tonrey, Psy.D., LMFT, LPC

Dr. Donna Tonrey is a Pennsylvania Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Licensed Professional Counselor. She is a Clinical Fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor. Dr. Tonrey earned her master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy and Counseling, and her doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at La Salle University.

Along with her private practice, she is the Director and Faculty of the Counseling and Family Therapy Master’s Programs at La Salle University. In this role Dr. Tonrey has trained many therapist to become successful clinicians and contributors to the mental health field.

Dr. Tonrey is the former Chair of the PA State Board of Social Workers, Marriage and Family Therapists, and Professional Counselors. Dr. Tonrey served on the board from 2004 to 2012.

During her1998-1999 tenure as President of the Pennsylvania Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (PAMFT), which is the state division of AAMFT, a coalition of PA Counselors and Marriage and Family Therapists was formed. Within this coalition and combined effort, in December 1998, the PA Legislation passed licensing for Marriage and Family Therapists and Professional Counselors.

Dr. Tonrey was directly responsible for the opening of the Berks County mental health agency branch of Penn Foundation, where she developed and implemented clinical training and consultation services for all of the mental health agencies in the county. She worked extensively with Pennsylvania’s Wrap-Around Service from the beginning of its inception in the state. Through this involvement she assisted many agencies in facilitating, establishing, coordinating and implementing Wrap-Around Services for children. She also has extensive experience in providing Mobile Therapy and Behavior Specialist Services. Dr. Tonrey facilitated numerous effective Inter-Agency Meetings and is well experienced at dealing with all the dynamics that these meetings present.
